During the enhanced community quarantine, Metro Manila cities implemented a liquor ban for resellers and restaurants. Now that the National Capital Region transitioned to modified enhanced community quarantine, several cities are beginning to allow selling and distribution of alcoholic beverages again. To find whether your city has lifted the ban or not, here’s a comprehensive list complete with each local government’s guidelines.

 

Caloocan

Is the liquor ban lifted? Yes, as of May 16

Through City Ordinance No. 0869 Series of 2020 signed by Mayor Oscar Malapitan

Guidelines:

  • Resumption of sale, purchase and distribution of alcoholic beverages
  • Consumption of liquor is only allowed in private properties
  • Only a maximum of three persons drinking inside private properties
  • Physical distancing must be observed while drinking
  • Consumption of liquor in public places is prohibited
  • Selling of alcoholic beverages is only allowed from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily
  • Only a maximum of five bottles or cans of beer with a volume of 500 ml or less or two bottles with a volume of one liter or more than 500 ml to be sold per individual per day
  • Only a maximum of two bottles of wine with a volume of one liter or less to be sold per individual per day
  • Only a maximum of one bottle of gin, whiskey, brandy or other hard liquor with a volume of one liter or less to be sold per individual per day
  • A penalty of P500 to P1,500 is imposed upon violators

 

Las Piñas

Makati

The city did not impose a liquor ban. Residents have been allowed to purchase and drink alcoholic beverages inside their private residences only with physical distancing strictly observed.

 

Malabon

  • Selling of alcoholic beverages is only allowed from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
