Did you ever do laundry one day only to take out your clothes from the dryer and realize that your favorite sweater is now half its original size? Yup, the scenario is all too real if you ask us. Now before you give up on life and donate them to your baby sister or niece, you should know that there’s actually an easy way to unshrink your clothes.
How to unshrink your clothes:
- Fill a bucket with lukewarm water. Make sure it’s not too hot.
- Add two to three tablespoons of hair conditioner and mix well.
- Soak the garment for 30 minutes and gently stretch it out back to its original shape.
- Hand-wash your clothes after and lay flat to dry.
That’s it. Easy peasy. It turns out hair conditioner can relax the fibers of the garment, making it soft so you can easily stretch it back into its original shape.
P.S.: This technique works best for cotton and knit garments. Make a quick test patch first with the solution to make sure that your clothes are compatible.
