Launched on May 26, the new hotline will be a new communication system for the public to relay any issues or concerns about the rules and ordinances that will take effect under modified enhanced community quarantine or general community quarantine.
The hotline was launched in partnership with PLDT, who has donated 52 units of mobile phones with load, 30 units of pocket Wi-Fi, a hundred prepaid cards worth P300 and access to Enterprise SMS Messaging Suite to PNP.
Helpline 16677 is available 24/7, connected to a trained team supervised by the PNP Directorate for Operations – PNP Command Center (DO-PCC).
“We want a quick response system that will immediately address and respond to the public’s concerns in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The timely release of information and assistance is urgently needed by our people and the PNP’s helpline will provide just that,” PNP Chief Archie Gamboa said in PNP’s Facebook post.
