Luneta Park is partially reopening—only for exercise, strictly no loitering, okay?

Starting today, July 1, Luneta Park is partially reopening for exercise activities such as walking, jogging, cycling and Tai chi. Loitering is strictly prohibited. Civilians are also required to follow strict health protocols if they want to enter the park.

The National Park Development Committee (NPDC) posted on their Facebook page that the park will be open from 5 a.m to 9 p.m. daily with only the central section paths available for exercise activities. The rest of the park will be closed to avoid further spread of the virus. Parkgoers are required to fill out a health declaration form upon entry and must adhere to the park’s guidelines and map.

The park will have a designated entrance and exit station, while parking is available only to those who reserved beforehand. However, vehicle owners can only park once a day. Civilians must wear masks and undergo a thermal check at the entrance. Proper physical distancing of five meters must be observed. Vendors are still not allowed inside the park.

Those interested in exercising in the park must fill up an RSVP form available online. However, the NDPC still reserves the right to decline any person from entering the park to ensure public safety.

The general community quarantine in Metro Manila allows individual and group outdoor exercises including non-contact sports such as golf, tennis, table tennis, swimming as long as minimum public health standards are observed.

For more information, the NDPC encourages the public to message them at [email protected] or message them directly on their Facebook page.
