Before 11.11 sales became a thing for early holiday shoppers, people went bazaar hopping—bazaars being organized shopping events featuring a number of concessionaires selling everything from clothes and accessories to home decor and food.
Prior to quarantine and before discovering the wonders of online shopping, titas were bazaar regulars. You might recall your mom or favorite aunt blocking off days some weeks before the holiday rush to visit the Noël Bazaar. Heck, you might even have tagged along as a glorified bag handler and keeper of the Christmas list.
After all, Noël Bazaar is the largest and longest-running shopping mecca for early Christmas shoppers since the 2000s.
Noël Bazaar online
But like most events in this pandemic, the OG holiday fair had to adjust to quarantine restrictions. For the first time in its two-decade run, Noël Bazaar is going online, with its e-commerce platform open all year long.
Noelbazaar.ph will feature a long list of retailers selling unique Yuletide finds, and will still benefit the GMA Kapuso Foundation, Inquirer Foundation Corp., and the Noel P. Gozon Memorial Clinic. This year’s online bazaar also aims to help pandemic-stricken local businesses recover from economic loss.
New platform, new deals
As for buyers and bargain seekers, you can expect flash sales, live-selling and promo vouchers while enjoying a hassle-free and safe online shopping experience.
Oh, and remember the GMA Celebrity Ukay-Ukay, where celebs donate their prized clothes for charity? That too is going to go online! You know we’ll be snatching a piece or two of those, because we love giving preloved pieces a second life. Let’s go, circular economy!
Noël Bazaar will announce the final list of retailers selling their wares on its website. We hear there will be over 6,000 gift and food items available so that’s something to look forward to.
