Need to fly abroad anytime soon for work or other essential functions? It is possible even with the COVID-19 pandemic still on-going.
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Sunday released a list of 25 countries that have now lifted their border restrictions and are now allowing Filipinos entry.
These include the United States of America, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and New Zealand. Another 78 countries are now also accepting Filipinos for essential travel like Japan and other heavily overseas Filipino workers (OFW)-populated countries like Hong Kong, Canada, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom.
DFA, however, reiterates that tourist travel is still prohibited and maintains some travel restrictions for outbound travelers.
Returning OFWs must present proof of international travel itinerary with departure scheduled within 24 hours from leaving residence or accommodation. Only one person can accompany the passenger to the airport and he/she must depart immediately after dropping off said person. The driver should carry with him/her a copy of the airline ticket of the passenger as proof of conveyance.
Travelers are also advised to check with the embassies of their respective destinations for any changes regarding travel restrictions as such are prone to changes without prior public notice.
