Whether or not the National Capital Region’s lockdown will be downgraded to general community quarantine (GCQ) come May 15 is still being deliberated. One of the provisions of GCQ is the partial opening of commercial spaces like malls, with only essential, non-leisure stores like hardware (the only specific business specified) allowed to open.

Other healthcare facilities like dental and eye, ear, nose and throat (EENT) clinics will likewise be open to serve the public.
Meanwhile, while the easing of the lockdown is being decided, other quasi-essential (yes, we’re making that a thing) services are taking to the internet to provide much-needed services. (Remember the dentist answering ECQ dental emergencies through his TikTok?) These include opticals, which often requires a trip outside for consultations and eyeglass fitting.
Accidents happen all the time and often it involves a missing pair of eyeglasses or contact lenses—not to mention running out of contacts solution, which by the way is bound to happen since shops abruptly closed when quarantine was imposed.
It’s a good thing some optical shops remain open—at least for delivery and online consultations—to cater to our eye care needs, whether it’s contact lenses or eye solution refills or even prescription glasses.
Ideal Vision
Apart from a website where customers can shop, Ideal Vision also has a Facebook shopping page where prescription contacts, solution and eyewear are listed with prices. Shopping through their website will require you to register first. Once that is done and the item is paid for through bank transfer, PayPal or credit card, they can deliver your order.
Delivery coverage as of writing is Quezon City, Caloocan, Las Piñas, Makati, Malabon, Manila, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Muntinlupa, Navotas, Parañaque, Pasay, Pasig, San Juan, Taguig, Valenzuela, as well as the municipality of Pateros.
