There was no shortage of terrible news this 2020. Pandemic aside, this was also the year of reckoning for our (formerly) beloved Bon Appétit Test Kitchen YouTube channel. Our favorite Test Kitchen crew members, namely Sohla El-Waylly, had recently gone solo after the exposé that basically shut the channel down. And our “Gourmet Makes” queen, Claire Saffitz, is going solo, too.
After launching her own cookbook, “Dessert Person,” Claire Saffitz is coming home to YouTube with her own channel. In an Instagram post, Claire announced that her new channel will bring some of her book’s recipes to life.
“It’s one thing to read a recipe, but it’s another thing entirely to see it made, so feel free to follow along just as we enter prime baking season,” she wrote.
As much as we miss watching Claire wrack her brain over tempering chocolate and her other Gourmet Makes cooking adventures, we’re really looking forward to seeing her in her element.
The first episode is coming out tonight, and we can’t wait to see it.
