Most cakes draw their allure from flaunting their state-of-the-art designs—the meticulous piping, detailed sculptures of sugar, and the beautiful fondant decor. So when the cakes enclosed in tin cans suddenly rose to fame, the phenomenon seemed counterintuitive to me—the only thing you can appreciate is the top of the cake, which is usually just simple dusting of cocoa or something.
However, as we’d like to call anything famous on Instagram now, the hype is real. The novelty of tin can cakes and, of course, its deliciousness (they have to be that delicious, or else, what’s the point?) still blows people’s minds, making it a great gift idea.
So if you’re looking into gifting others or yourself some of these (which is packaged for bingeing, if you haven’t noticed), here are some shops you need to check out.
