After a long work week, I wouldn’t blame you if you just stayed in bed and binged watch a show all weekend (I’m also guilty here). But on some weekends when you’re feeling extra active, good news is that the metro never runs out of things to do. But truth be told, we don’t usually know what and where they are, and this is what keeps us from getting out of the rut. You’ll want to plan this weekend ahead of time because we’ve handpicked a list of exciting things to do from Apr. 27 to 28.
The Good Trade
Ayala Malls The 30th, Pasig City
Apr. 27-28
You may recognize zero-waste and sustainability fair The Good Trade from their pop-ups in BGC but this summer, they’re expanding to different parts of the metro. From Apr. 27 to 28, they’re coming to Ayala Malls The 30th in Pasig, opening at 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. Expect to see an extensive line of merchants, free workshops, refillable and alteration stations, and recyclables and donations drop-offs.
Día del Libro
Ayala Triangle Gardens, Makati City
Apr. 27
Instituto Cervantes de Manila is holding its annual Día del Libro this weekend—an open house with various activities in celebration of International Book Day. Catch a book market, exhibits, concerts, lectures, dance contests, poetry reading, a Spanish food fair, and more. It’s happening from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Ayala Triangle Gardens on Apr. 27.
Soirée Pop-up
The Fifth at Rockwell, Power Plant Mall, Makati City
Apr. 27-28
Shop for homegrown fashion and lifestyle brands at Soirée, a bi-yearly pop-up by Retail Lab. There will be free workshops in the event like basic plant care by Tierra Plants, sustainable living by Things That Matter, and mixing essential oils by Pure Origins. It’s happening this weekend from Apr. 27 to 28 at The Fifth at Rockwell, Power Plant Mall, with store hours from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. You may take the elevator across Starbucks Reserve that goes straight to the fifth floor.

MO_Space Main Gallery, 9th Ave., BGC
Apr. 27
Opening on Apr. 27 at 6 p.m. is “A Mubble in a Puddle,” an exhibit by Yasmin Sison featuring works “that seem to have spilled out of a child’s toy box.” Sison is known for her abstract expressionist works that portray children is different emotional states. The exhibit is running until May 26 at the MO_Space Main Gallery in BGC.
