McDonald’s Philippines is serving frontliners and communities in need of assistance during the COVID-19 outbreak through the Kindness Kitchen project run by Ronald McDonald House Charities.

“McDonald’s has launched the Kindness Kitchen, a McDonald’s restaurant that prepares food for our frontliners and communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. We are committed to serve at least 50,000 meals for them,” the fast food chain said on their website.

“However, this is not enough. There are thousands more who are in need. With your help, we can reach out and prepare food for them. Your donations will be used to cover meals worth P50 per person. We are offering these meals at cost,” the company added.

Since Mar. 20, the fast food chain has served over 9,000 meals from their first kitchen in Quezon City. Their second kitchen, located in Las Piñas City, has also served over 5,000 meals.

Recently, McDonald’s launched its third kitchen in Cebu City, which has already served 3,000 meals. Another Kindness Kitchen is also already operational in Makati. Each kitchen prepares 1,500 meals a day which are distributed by the chain’s partners.

Besides affected local communities and health workers, Kindness Kitchen also serves meals to police and local government unit volunteers.

In order to help and reach more communities in these trying times, they encourage the public to send donations through PayMaya or BPI bank deposit via Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Philippines with the bank number 3021-4107-47.
