For meat-free diners, Shake Shack has the ‘Shroom Burger. Crisp-fried portobello mushrooms filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheese is stuffed between buns instead of the beef patty.

If you’d had the opportunity to taste any of these fast food plant-based burgers and liked them so far, then you might want to try these other vegan and vegetarian-friendly options that are available in Metro Manila.

A Home Kewk

Former publisher Bea Ledesma aka A Home Kewk makes her veggie burger patties with banana heart, malunggay, and nuts. It’s lacto-ovo vegetarian. Since launching in July 2021, she’s made one with sambal sauce and the latest, which is a take on American cheeseburgers called the veggie smash burger.
