The thought of buying swimwear sends me into a frenzy. As a proud thunder thighed, pear-shaped gal, I never had the luxury of a two-piece set fitting me properly. If the top fits properly, I likely have to squeeze into and frequently un-wedgie the bottom. If the bottom makes my bum look great, the top will have me sued for public indecency.
Oftentimes, the same thing goes for petite girls, too.
Thankfully, more and more local entrepreneurs are coming up with swimwear lines with different body shapes in mind. Several brands even sell their bikini tops and bottoms separately. We’re not all born with an hourglass figure and thigh gaps, after all.
The best part? You can spot and shop their collections online. And it’s honestly such a wonderful feeling to see a thicker model showing off beautiful two-pieces on Instagram with confidence.

The beauty of a high-waisted bikini is that it suits everyone. Grab a plain colored one to mix and match with daring tops, or get a fun, patterned set.

Flaunt your figure with equally cute pastel tones. Beyond the Beach turns around classic, no-fuss designs with vibrant to dusky shades.

Uniqlo’s summer line now has swimwear. Can you believe it? Though they only carry up to large sizes, we still love the carefree verdant vibe of the Princesse Tam Tam botanicals.
