Inside the newly refurbished Podium is The Corner Market, a food hall on the second floor that brings an ensemble of restaurants and produce stores.
It‘s the brainchild of Linfred Yap, managing partner at the Relish Group, who drew inspiration from his trips to foreign countries’ farmers’ market like Queen Victoria in Melbourne, La Boqueria in Barcelona, and Mercado de San Miguel in Madrid. However, Yap wants a better, a notch higher, kind of market.
Thus, The Corner Market was born. It’s conveniently situated inside a fully air-conditioned mall in Ortigas, just a few meters away from office workers in the business district. It’s a 1,200 sq.m-food hall that will soon be filled with more than 15 stalls.
Here are some stalls that you’d find there:
Stockwell Cafe + Lounge
Stockwell found its new home here in this food hub. This cafe and lounge from Tomas Morato carries specialty coffee and wine.
Catch of the Day
Catch of the Day by seafood supplier Cold Storage is a concept where customers could pick their own choice of seafood—salmon, unagi, tuna, scallops, etc.—and get them cooked by grilling, poaching, or frying. A truly farmers’ market style.
Gusto
Gusto is a flower, fruit, and vegetable shop by a family that runs a farm in Rizal. It also serves farm-to-table dishes like salads and buddha bowls.
Meat Depot
Choose your own cuts of meat and get them cooked on the spot here at Meat Depot, which hails all the way from BF Homes in Parañaque. They also have longganisa, tapa, and pork tocino, all vacuum-sealed so you can cook them from the comforts of your homes, too.
The Rabbit Hole
Cut the savory taste from the other restaurants with baked goods and confectioneries at The Rabbit Hole. Aside from the usual cakes, they have a line of keto ones for those who are on the diet. You can find its original shop on Malugay St., Makati.
