Global online database Numbeo has named Cebu, Valenzuela, Baguio, Davao, and Makati among the top 10 safest cities in Southeast Asia.
Based on the survey, Valenzuela City ranked second, followed by Davao (4th), Makati (5th), Baguio (6th), and Cebu (8th). Also on the list are Bali (7th), Penang (9th), Bangkok (10th), and Singapore, which bagged the top spot.
According to Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña, the city’s police force, as well as other key personnel, was a big help in maintaining peace and order. Maximum deployment of personnel and police visibility is part of the city’s preventive measures against all forms of illegal activities.
In fact, Cebu’s crime index significantly dropped to 2.8 percent in the first quarter of 2018 compared last year.
If you’re looking for new cities to explore (or revisit) this summer, you can start with these.
