Ah, TikTok! The purveyor of many dance challenges and let’s not forget: actually good and beginner-friendly recipes.
[READ: Help, I can’t get enough of TikTok cooking. I blame these accounts]The latest in the video-sharing app’s trendy recipes? Baked feta pasta. Before this recipe went viral on TikTok—thanks to Grilled Cheese Social blogger MacKenzie Smith—Finnish blogger Jenni Hayrinen is credited with making uunifetapasta (Finnish for “oven-baked feta pasta”) popular in Finland.
The recipe is seriously very easy to replicate. I want to say a child can do it, but since it involves an oven maybe adult supervision is needed.

Ingredients
- Feta cheese
- Cherry tomatoes
- Olive oil
- Basil
- Garlic
- Chili flakes
- Salt and pepper
- Any pasta
Procedure
- Toss the tomatoes with the feta in the center on a baking pan or tray, then drizzle with olive oil and season with salt, pepper and chili flakes
- Bake for 30 minutes at 400°F (approximately 200°C). Smith suggests an additional five to 10 mins more in 450°F (230°C) to brown the feta and for the tomatoes to burst
- Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package instruction. Once done, reserve a cup of pasta water
- Take it out of the oven then add chopped garlic (or whole cloves), basil and red pepper flakes then stir. Mix in cooked pasta of any kind along with some pasta water if it’s dry and that’s lunch!
